Note: Unlike the bachelor of general studies (BGS), the bachelor of arts in interdisciplinary studies (BA) requires 1213 credit hours in a foreign language.

Admissions & Requirements

To be accepted to this program, you must have:

  1. Completed at least 24 credit hours of college course work, including the equivalent of MATH 1100 or ENGLSH 1000 with a grade of C- or better.
  2. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in your transfer college course work. If you are transferring from an MU System school (UMSL, S&T, UMKC) the minimum cumulative GPA is 2.0.
  3. If English is not your native language, please submit a TOEFL score of at least 80 (internet-based test) or an IELTS score of at least 6.5.
NOTE: This program is authorized, exempt, or not subject to state regulatory compliance and may enroll students from all 50 states, U.S. territories and the District of Columbia.

To apply to this program:

You may apply to the online bachelor of arts in interdisciplinary studies program as a transfer student if you have at least 24 credit hours of course work from a regionally accredited college or university.

You also may apply as a freshman, but we do not advise you do so. To apply as a freshman, please follow the freshman admission process.
